Discover House Window Costs & Prices

Vinyl window frames are the most popular window on the market and combine affordability with durability. They account for over 50% of the entire replacement window market. Vinyl windows cost, on average, $35 – $70 per square foot for the window itself.  Fully installed, consumers can expect to pay between $50 and $110 per square foot. Window Installation Costs can be anywhere from $250 for simple insert or a retrofit installation, to $350 an opening for full frame installation. The whole frame stud to stud with aluminum capping outside or with a brickmould attached on exterior of a window frame , plus new jamb extension and casing on the interior will get replaced for that clean new look. These jobs may also require some interior or exterior trim work, which can be often aluminum capping to the existing exterior trim. Of course, the range of cost is affected by many factors, including the size of the frame, the glass package, quality of hardware, number of upgrades, the need to alter an existing frame, double- or triple-glazed, insulating gases in double- or triple-glazed, exterior dressing, remoteness of the job site location, time demands on the contractor, unforeseen structural deficiencies,  etc. The pricing below is an industry standard range for a normal sized window with typical installation.

Casements and Awnings

Awning windows are hinged at the top and allow the window to open or crank outward from the bottom. When they are opened, they look  like an awning. As far as pricing goes, awnings are in the middle of the pack (right inline with casements), think $650 to $850 for a high end vinyl framed casement or awning with professional installation.
